If you are looking for auto repair in Powell...I can tell you where not to go. DO NOT GO TO Oxford Automotive (Powell, Ohio), they have more holes in their story than swiss cheese. I asked for honesty and to be quoted the least amount possible for now and then we could set up a time for more repairs. I sent my car on Friday morning and they said they would look at it and email me a report. They didn't. I had to call Friday evening and ask for an update only to find out they wouldn't get to it until Monday. Today, they quoted me $5000 for a $1500 job (confirmed by 3 other mechanics). They breakdown of parts wasn't included and when I asked why, the GM said most people are too confused at reading an invoice so he doesn't put it on there. I am being charged for a $125 diagnostic that I was told will tell me everything that this wrong with my care "bumper to bumper" but my windshield wiper pump that is out isn't on there. I was told they pride them selves in customer service but the general manager was argumentative, rude, and when I addressed the discrepancies, he said I should find another shop. They only proudly serve their customers that will blindly pay for anything they up charge. See other reviews on Yelp and on Facebook. They have other negatives.
Sarah and I had a great talk on the phone after she gave the feedback you see above. She was respectful and articulate in how she shared her experience with us. As I told Sarah on the phone, we definitely could have communicated much better with her about her vehicle. This is something that we are normally very good at but on this busy Friday we just didn't. No excuses for that. I did apologize to her for that. As far as prices go, we are not the most expensive shop by any means, but do believe that our customers want excellent repairs as well as service. To bring this level of service to our customers requires us to charge a fair price. The only price in the end that is fair is the one that fixes the car right. Our industry is full of shops that will quote a low price that doesn't fix anything long-term. For others to quote a lower price sight-unseen is like comparing apples to oranges. I did appreciate the time that Sarah spent with me on the phone as I learned some areas that I can coach our team to get better on and I hope that she will consider giving us another try in the future.
